Tartar salsa is perfect. Tartar sauce is made with pickles, mayonnaise, and lemon juice. It blends well with seafood and a host of other dishes.

Tartar salsa originally originated in France. Which makes it a local delicacy for the people of fragrance is common in seafood restaurants as it can be used for fried oysters and fish

Tartar salsa is made by combining pickles, mayonnaise, lemon juice, capers, dill, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a small bowl and stirring until very well blended and gives off that creamy look. Add salt and pepper then adjust with other condiments to taste.

Tartar Salsa Recipe (Makes 4 servings)

Ingredients:

1 lb fresh tomatoes, diced

1 medium red onion, chopped

1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped

2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced

2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice

2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

Salt, to taste

Instructions:

Start by preparing the vegetables. Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and chop the red onion into small pieces.

Next, chop the cilantro leaves and mince the jalapeño peppers. Remove the seeds from the jalapeño peppers to reduce the heat.

In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, chopped cilantro, and minced jalapeño peppers.

Add the freshly squeezed lime juice and extra-virgin olive oil to the bowl. Stir the ingredients until well combined.

Season the salsa with salt to taste. Stir the ingredients once more to ensure even distribution.

Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salsa for 30 minutes to 1 hour, to allow the flavours to eld.

Serve the tartar salsa as a dip with tortilla chips, or use it as a topping for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.
