Father James Blount is a well-known Catholic priest who has been serving the church for many years. He was born on August 23, 1958, in the small town of Conneaut, Ohio. His parents were devout Catholics who instilled in him a love for the faith from an early age. He attended Catholic school and was an altar boy throughout his childhood.
After finishing high school, Father James Blount decided to enter the seminary and pursue the priesthood. He studied at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Youngstown in 1983. He then served in various parishes throughout the diocese, where he became known for his dynamic preaching and his devotion to the sacraments.
In 1990, Father Blount was introduced to the Catholic charismatic renewal movement, which had a profound impact on his life and ministry. He became involved in the renewal and began to incorporate the gifts of the Holy Spirit into his preaching and ministry. He also began to lead retreats and missions, which became a central part of his work as a priest.
In the early 2000s, Father Blount felt called to leave the diocesan priesthood and become a missionary. He joined the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT), a missionary order based in Robstown, Texas, and began to serve in various parts of the world. He spent time in Mexico, where he ministered to the poor and worked with local communities to promote social justice. He also spent time in the Philippines, where he helped to establish a new SOLT mission and worked with local pastors to promote the Catholic faith.
In 2007, Father Blount was sent to Medjugorje, a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina where the Virgin Mary is said to have been appearing to a group of visionaries since 1981. Fr. Blount was initially sceptical of the apparitions, but he soon became convinced of their authenticity and began to devote himself to promoting the messages of Medjugorje.
Since then, Father Blount has become one of the most prominent promoters of Medjugorje in the United States. He has led numerous pilgrimages to the village and has spoken at many conferences and events about the messages of the Virgin Mary. He has also written several books on the subject, including “Medjugorje: The Message” and “Medjugorje and the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”
Father Blount’s work in Medjugorje has not been without controversy. The Vatican has not recognized the apparitions as authentic, and some critics have accused Father Blount of promoting a false devotion. Fr. Blount has defended his work, however, saying that he is simply sharing the messages of the Virgin Mary and encouraging people to live a life of prayer and faith.
Despite the controversy, Father Blount’s work has had a profound impact on many people. He has helped to bring thousands of pilgrims to Medjugorje, where they have experienced spiritual renewal and conversion. He has also helped to promote a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith, particularly in the area of prayer and devotion.
In addition to his work in Medjugorje, Father Blount continues to lead retreats and missions around the world. He is known for his dynamic preaching, his devotion to the sacraments, and his love for the Catholic faith. He is also an advocate for
